Thornton Pianos was established in 1968 by Desmond Thornton following a 21 year career as a piano tuner/technician with Pigott’s of Grafton Street. Initially set up as a secondhand sales and piano repair business, it developed over the years into the type of business we have today covering all aspects of piano & related services.

My Mother Joan (accounts) and my Dad’s sister, Rita (French Polisher) joined him early on, building the foundations of the business and developing the reputation for quality work and value for money products. Both Jeff and myself, Adrian joined the team in subsequent years.

Des Thornton passed away following a short illness in 2000. Since then, both Joan and Rita have retired.

Now in our 6th decade, our knowledgeable and experienced staff and associates, continue to develop the business further, with the same work ethic, quality workmanship and value for money products.

As of March 2014, we have moved premises to: D24, North City Business Park, Finglas, D11. All of our points of contact: Landline, Mobile, Email and Website remain unchanged.

Customers please note that Jeff did not choose to be involved in the relocation in March 2014.
